🎮 How to Set Up Your Scratch Account

Step 1: Go to Scratch

👉 Go to: scratch.mit.edu

💡 Tip: Ask Mr. G if you need help getting to the website! You can also search "Scratch MIT" in Google.

Step 2: Click "Join Scratch"

👉 Look for: A button that says "Join Scratch" in the top right corner of the page

💡 Tip: It's usually a blue or orange button! If you're on a phone or tablet, it might be in a menu (three lines ☰).

Step 3: Choose a Username

👉 Pick a username: This is what people will see when they look at your projects (not your real name!)

✅ Good usernames:

• "GameMaster2024"
• "CoolCoder"
• "ArtCreator"
• "SuperScratcher"

❌ Don't use:

• Your real name
• Your school name
• Your address or phone number
• Any personal information

💡 Tip: Pick something fun that represents you! You can use numbers and letters.

Step 4: Create a Password

👉 Make a password: Pick something you can remember but others can't guess!

✅ Good password tips:

• Use at least 8 characters
• Mix letters and numbers
• Make it something only you know

💡 Tip: Write it down somewhere safe, or ask Mr. G to help you remember it! Never share your password with anyone except your parents or teacher.

Step 5: Confirm Your Email (If Needed)

👉 Check your email: Scratch might send you an email to confirm your account

💡 Tip: Ask a parent or teacher to help if you need to use an email! Some schools let you use your school email account.

Note: Sometimes you can skip this step, but it's good to have an email connected to your account!

Step 6: Share Your Project

👉 After you make a project, here's how to share it:

1. Click the "Share" button on your project page (it's usually a green button at the top)
2. Copy the link from the address bar at the top of your browser
   It will look like: scratch.mit.edu/projects/1234567890/
3. Paste that link in the submission form when you send your work to Mr. G! 📋

💡 Important: Make sure you click "Share" on your project! If you don't share it, other people (including Mr. G) won't be able to see it!
